2100drawingthumbsDD 449-451DD 467-469 and DD 507-517DD 629-631 and DD 642-644DD 650-653 and DD 688-691Nearly 2800 images of engineering drawings and related documents for Fletcher-class ships built at Bath Iron Works have been preserved on microfilm at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), College Park, Maryland.
   The set differentiates four groups of 2100-tonners as built:
 • DD 449–451 (Nicholas, O’Bannon and Chevalier) with a 1.1-inch cannon mounted on a high after deckhouse an no 40mm (see also the first Fletchers).
 • DD 467–469 (Strong, Taylor and De Haven) and DD 507–517 (ConwayWalker) with two 40mm twins (see also 1942–43 armament).
 • DD 629–631 (Abbot, Braine and Erben) and DD 642–644 (Hale, Sigourney and Stembel) with three 40mm twins (see also mid–43 armament); and
 • DD 650–653 (Caperton, Cogswell, Ingersoll and Knapp) and DD 688–691 (Remey, Wadleigh, Norman Scott and Mertz) with five 40mm twins (see also 1943–44 armament).
   The entire set, scanned at 400 dpi and saved as TIFF files, is available on DVD-ROM.
