Vella Gulf from Gizo Strait

D.W. McComb photo, copyright © 2005 Destroyer History Foundation.
Looking northeasterly into Vella Gulf from Gizo Strait. One of Gizo’s outlying islands is at right; Kolombangara Island is at center. The American destroyers entered Vella Gulf past this point, turned to starboard beyond the small island into Blackett Strait and then crossed from right to left along the Kolombangara coast.
